What makes this hard to copy
Most ambient scribes are a thin AI layer bolted onto a cloud pipeline. Tahlk's architecture — and the compliance work underneath it — makes the easy version of this product a different, weaker product.
Speech recognition runs on your machine, on a bundled Whisper model — nothing to download, nothing uploaded. A competitor can't retrofit this after the fact; it has to be the foundation.
Every signed note is sealed into a running SHA-256 hash chain the instant you sign it. If the record is ever questioned, the chain — not your word — is the evidence.

Tahlk is a native desktop app, not a tab. That's what makes window content-protection possible — the session can't be screen-captured by something else running on the machine.

Where we're starting
Tahlk is launching with behavioral health and podiatry, not because the product stops there, but because behavioral health carries some of the strictest confidentiality rules in healthcare. Building the compliance foundation for that case first means each new specialty is additive, not a rewrite.
Beta status
Tahlk ships today as a signed Windows installer, with note generation routed through Greenbar's managed key proxy — no separate Anthropic account to set up. Access is rolling out in stages, gated on a signed BAA/EULA with Greenbar Systems before real patient use — no developer or IT help required to run it.
